From a rooftop in Brooklyn Heights aimed across the East River to a traffic circle in Montauk, at the far end of Long Island, these New York webcams cover the city and the state in one place. Start with the Lower Manhattan live cam, which watches One World Trade Center and the Financial District from the roof of the St. George Tower, then browse the grid for beaches, lakes and border bridges upstate.

New York City live cams: Times Square, the harbor and the skyline

Manhattan has more cameras on this page than any other part of the state, and each one owns a different view:

  • Times Square. The Times Square live cam faces 4 Times Square, home of the NASDAQ MarketSite, at the crossing of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown.
  • The harbor. The Statue of Liberty live cam looks out at Liberty Island, where the statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
  • Midtown from Brooklyn. The Manhattan skyline cam watches the Empire State and Chrysler buildings across the East River from Williamsburg.

Times Square is the busiest of these frames by far. According to the Times Square Alliance’s pedestrian counts, about 220,000 people entered the square on an average day in 2024, and the busiest days reach 330,000. Bryant Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Bronx and the East 34th Street ferry landing round out the city views in the grid.

Long Island and Hamptons webcams

East of the city, the cams follow Long Island’s South Fork out to the ocean. The Montauk webcam watches the traffic circle in downtown Montauk, the last town before the Atlantic at the island’s eastern tip, where the Montauk Point Lighthouse has stood since 1796.

Between the city and Montauk, the grid covers Hamptons beaches at Westhampton, Hampton Bays, Sagaponack and East Hampton, the harbors at Sag Harbor and Shinnecock, the South Ferry to Shelter Island, and the shark, penguin and coral reef cams of the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead.

Upstate New York webcams: the Adirondacks and the St. Lawrence

The northern half of the state looks completely different. The Lake Placid webcam watches Mirror Lake in the village that hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980, and Old Forge covers the western Adirondacks.

Further north, the Watertown live camera follows Public Square, the center of the North Country, while other cams in the grid watch the Thousand Islands Bridge at Alexandria Bay, opened in 1938, and the border inspection plaza on the way to Canada. At the western edge, Old Fort Niagara guards the mouth of the Niagara River, and the Finger Lakes add Watkins Glen and the Cornell Lab bird feeder in Ithaca.

Beyond these New York webcams, our USA live cams cover the other states the same way, from Florida to California.

When it is the middle of the night in New York, our live webcams from around the world cover the cities where the sun is already up.
