Cruise passengers checking on their ship the night before boarding, crew families waiting for a familiar funnel, and ship fans counting how many vessels are tied up on a busy Sunday all end up on the same feed. The PortMiami live cam follows the cruise ships of the Port of Miami on Dodge Island, in Biscayne Bay between Downtown Miami and Miami Beach, Florida, streaming live as they come alongside and head back out to the Atlantic. It is the main page among the Miami webcams on the site.

Early mornings: ships coming home to Dodge Island

Turnaround days start before sunrise. Ships returning from the Bahamas and the Caribbean come in through Government Cut, the channel dredged in the early 1900s between Miami Beach and Fisher Island, and then tie up at the terminals along Dodge Island. The port island was built by joining Dodge, Lummus and Sam’s Islands into a single piece of land, and Port Boulevard links it to Downtown Miami across the Intracoastal Waterway.

By mid morning the Port of Miami webcam shows the busiest stretch of the day on the quay: thousands of guests leaving, luggage trucks moving, and the same ship being restocked for the next sailing. The Port Miami Tunnel, finished in 2014 at a cost of about $1 billion, carries much of the truck and taxi traffic under the bay to Watson Island, which keeps those vehicles off the downtown streets. Like all the live cams worldwide on the site, this one is free to open, with no sign-up.

Afternoons: sail aways on the Miami cruise port live stream

In the afternoon the direction flips. New passengers board, the gangways come in, and one ship after another backs away from its berth and lines up for Government Cut. On the most crowded days that line can be long: on November 30, 2025, PortMiami handled 10 cruise ships and a record 75,201 passengers in a single day, including Symphony of the Seas, Carnival Celebration, Norwegian Aqua and Celebrity Beyond. It was the port’s third single-day record of the year, after 72,008 passengers on March 30 and 72,401 on April 20.

The terminals behind them have grown with the traffic. The port now runs ten passenger terminals, from AA to V, and the new AA Terminal, opened in spring 2025, mainly handles MSC ships, including MSC World America, a 215,863-ton ship that entered service in April 2025. A replacement terminal is also under construction at the western end of Dodge Island. Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world when it entered service in January 2024, sails from here too, and its silhouette is one of the easiest to recognize on the Miami cruise port live stream.

If you want to watch a departure in person, South Pointe Park, at the southern tip of South Beach, sits right beside the channel and gives a close look at each ship as it passes. Parking there can be tight on weekends, so many people arrive early or walk from the beach.

How busy is PortMiami this season?

Very. In fiscal year 2025, which ran from October 2024 to September 2025, the port welcomed 8,564,225 cruise passengers, the highest total in its history and 4.02% more than the year before, according to Miami-Dade County’s official PortMiami release. It also moved 1,115,058 TEUs of cargo, its 11th year in a row above one million.

The port contributes about $61 billion a year to the local economy and supports more than 340,000 jobs. For the 2025 to 2026 winter season it expected new arrivals such as Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady, Oceania’s Allura and Norwegian Luna, so the faces on the Port Miami live cam keep changing from month to month.

Miami is not the only Florida port setting records. In the same fiscal year, Port Canaveral counted 8,602,047 cruise passengers and finished just ahead of Miami, only the second time that has happened in the modern cruise era, and the Port Canaveral live cam shows that rivalry from the Space Coast.

Farther north, the Dania Beach Pier live cam looks out over the Atlantic near Fort Lauderdale, where ships leaving Port Everglades head out to sea along the same coast.

The port carries the name of Dante B. Fascell, the Miami congressman who served from 1955 to 1993, but almost everyone calls it PortMiami.

Winter is the season to keep the PortMiami live cam open: the record days of 2025 came on February 8, when the port handled ten ships for the first time, and again from late November, when the winter season starts. On days like those, the ships that arrive in the early morning are the same ones you watch sail away in the afternoon.
