Nashville Broadway live cam
Live Stream Cam in Broadway, Nashville, USA
Live bands start playing on Lower Broadway around 10 a.m., and on most days the honky-tonks keep the music going until about 3 a.m. That stretch of Broadway, known as Honky Tonk Highway, runs from 1st Avenue at the Cumberland River up to 5th Avenue (officially Rep. John Lewis Way) at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This Nashville webcam streams that strip live, so you can see right now how full the sidewalks are before you head out. Of the Nashville live cams on the site, this is the live webcam on Lower Broadway itself, at street level rather than on the skyline.
Most of these blocks belong to the Broadway Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 18, 1980. The brick storefronts are old; what happens inside them changes by the hour.
What the Broadway Nashville live cam shows
Broadway is a working city street here. U.S. Route 70 follows it from 1st Avenue to 13th Avenue, so cars, buses and taxis share the frame with the crowds on the sidewalks. On both sides stand the honky-tonks, several floors high and many of them topped by rooftop bars, and once the sun goes down their neon signs light up the whole picture in real time.
For a second angle on the same strip, the Skynet camera at Acme Feed & Seed watches Broadway from 1st Avenue, the river end. Acme itself is a grain building about a century old that now holds a multilevel restaurant and music venue with a rooftop bar.
Broadway Nashville live music: Tootsie’s, Robert’s and the Ryman
The oldest names on the strip sit near 5th Avenue. Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, at 422 Broadway, got its name in 1960, when Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess bought a bar called Mom’s and her painter covered the inside in orchid. It sits across the alley from the back of the Ryman Auditorium, which opened in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle and hosted the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Opry performers used to slip across that alley between shows.
The Tennessee state tourism guide to the district places its heart in the 300 to 500 blocks of Broadway, where Legends Corner, Tootsie’s, Robert’s Western World and Layla’s Bluegrass Inn stand within a few doors of each other. Robert’s house band, Brazilbilly, plays country with a Latin edge, and Layla’s sticks to bluegrass.
The newer, bigger venues belong to country stars. Ole Red is Blake Shelton’s multi-floor bar, built with the Grand Ole Opry; Jason Aldean’s has the largest rooftop on Broadway; and Nashville Underground packs four floors and a mechanical bull into 40,000 square feet near the river. If watching bars is more your thing than watching traffic, our live bar cams run from Key West to Dublin.
Big nights on the Broadway Nashville live stream
CMA Fest takes over downtown every June. The 2026 edition ran from June 4 to 7, with ticketed night concerts at Nissan Stadium and free daytime stages around the strip, including one on Bridgestone Plaza at 5th and Broadway.
From October to April, hockey sets the evening schedule. Bridgestone Arena seats almost 20,000 for Nashville Predators games and concerts, and when the building empties, the crowd pours straight out onto Broadway at 5th Avenue.
In April 2019 the NFL Draft put its main stage at First and Broadway and drew more than 600,000 fans over three days, a record for the event at the time. On the Fourth of July the fireworks go up over Riverfront Park, and the downtown Nashville panoramic cam from Nissan Stadium has the wider angle across the Cumberland River.
Mornings vs. nights on Lower Broadway
Before noon, Lower Broadway is as quiet as it gets: traffic on U.S. 70, shoppers in the boot stores and the first sets warming up in a few bars. Daytime is also when the sights a block or two off the strip are open, from the Johnny Cash Museum and the Patsy Cline Museum on 3rd Avenue to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Music City Center on 5th, and Fort Nashborough on 1st Avenue by the river.
Music builds through the afternoon, the neon takes over at dusk, and weekend nights are when the Nashville cam shows the sidewalks at their fullest. When the last bands pack up around 3 a.m., it is already morning in Europe, where many of our live cams from around the world are just getting light.
